Adams School BASIC INFO

· What will happen to Adams School (building & land)?
· What’s your vision? What are your neighbors’ visions?
· Should the building be torn down or reused?
· Should the plan include housing? (Seniors? Families? Both?)
· Should the playground stay?
· Should there be community gardening?
· Should there be new construction on the site?
· Should any of the property be sold to private developers?
· Should the entire property become a community resource?

will host a community vision workshop at its
quarterly meeting- October 12, 2006 @ 7pm, East End Community School - CAFETERIA

Motion was made by Councilor Mavodones and seconded by Councilor Suslovic for passage.

Motion was made by Councilor Duson and seconded by Councilor Suslovic to amend the order to have the recommendations come back to the Community Development Committee and that the CDC work with other appropriate Council committees and involve other stakeholders in the process and come back to the full City Council. [amendment] Passage 8-0. [Order 46-06/07] Passage, as amended, 8-0.

Adams School Re-Use Committee 
The Adams School Re-Use Committee was established to provide input to the City Council regarding the re-use options and criteria for site-redevelopment for the Adams School site, and to solicit public input to encourage civic discourse aimed at enhancing broad public acceptance of the eventual project.
